A small boy glances back across a dusty street in Telangana, India. He’d noticed me taking pictures and was waiting for me to notice him. Once I did, he fixed his gaze with great composure.
Love the quality of the image, as well the subject, Peter.
Grainy mono that reminds me of Kodak Tri-X….from the good old days.
Were you using a long lens here, Peter?
85mm f1.4 on a full frame dslr (ditched a while back for my hugely more useful fujifilm XT1)
He was quite far away though and I couldn’t get closer so I cropped the frame a fair amount later (and shot pretty much wide open to lose the background, some of which I have left blown out highlights)
I agree with you on the film look John. This was processed in lightroom with my own presets. However, I just got the most superb new software which I think you’d really like. DxO film labs elite version (around £70 I think but worth each single penny) Check it out, I think you will have your credit card out quickly!!
Ah, thanks very much Peter, that’s interesting. Might do a trial. At present I use Nik Analog Effex quite a lot and it’s changed the way I work, so perhaps DxO would do the same.
Very pleased that India visa is simplified and much less expensive. I would think they’ve had many complaints about the normal tourist visa process.
what a look :)
Absolutely Joshi!
Brilliant!
Thanks :)
Such beautiful composure!
I wish I had the confidence in front of a camera like this little fella!
