What a fine photograph. The absolute concentration on both the teacher and child’s faces is priceless. Entirely candid by the looks of it, which raises its worth even further.
Cheers Mike, it took me a while sitting there before I was able to get anything truly candid (I was very close in a small room) but worth being patient. They’re brilliant kids. I appreciate your thoughts :)
I agree Patti. Actually this child had a pretty tough life but seemed to really take to watching the class even though she couldn’t hear it. It was great to watch her getting her first opportunity to learn to write. As a photographer, being there was a true blessing!
Thank you Pen :) This kid wasn’t really in the most suitable place but there wasn’t anywhere that looked after deaf children. At least some place was better than no place though I guess.
As always, really brilliant.
Thanks so much for commenting; it’s always appreciated. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

The interaction in this shot is so much more than touching.

Student- teacher relationship shown in the most beautiful way, Peter. This photograph is a story in itself!
Thanks Uday. It was beautiful to be able to witness this child being given a first chance to learn! :)
These photos that you share Peter, are always so special……both for the beautiful empathy that they show, and for the quality of the photography.
That’s a lovely complement which I really appreciate. Thanks very much!
I love this photo. It brings me so many memories about India… Thanks
