    1. Cheers James, Its true I do tend to gravitate towards people photographically :)
I usually have a D700 with one of a few lenses but just couldn’t be bothered to lug it around in Scotland, especially as I was with the family and we were visiting friends up there.
I got an EPL1 with a kit lens, just out of interest really, a while ago. Pretty slow lens (3.5 – 5.6 and poor ISO (well poor compared to my D700 which I happily shoot indoors at 2500 with minimal noise)
BUT, so light and portable it was definitely the right tool for this trip. I’m seriously interested in micro 4/3rds now and considering splashing out on a couple of fast primes for it. Maybe even buy an OM-D too?

      1. Hi Peter, I too noticed the Olympus tag and wondered………and I can’t recommend the OM-D enough. I haven’t used my DSLR since buying it, and it’s perfect for travel and street photography….I’m a convert,
        Regards,
        John

        1. I think I could be a convert too!! I cannot afford to go out and get one at the moment so the only way would be to sell my d700. (the one great thing that makes lugging it around worth the effort is such brilliant high iso performance). I rely on that a lot. I think a change is something that might be on the cards though. How do you find high iso on your omd?

  1. What a lovely picture Peter! Terrific light. You’ve captured the mood of the place perfectly! This image reminds me of a painting I saw recently in an exhibition in Delhi :)
