“Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you, and their souls the heaviest responsibility He will place in your hands. Take time with them, teach them to have faith in God. Be a person in whom they can have faith. When you are old, nothing else you’ve done will have mattered as much.”

    1. Thank you! I was lucky in that she really felt at ease being photographed. She didn’t smile or try and pose as is sometimes the case but just sat and stared right into the camera. I felt really lucky to be allowed to get this picture. :)

  1. Hi Peter, I really like your blog – so much so that I have had to copy the layout for my new blog. Imitation is supposedly the greatest form of flattery, hope you don’t mind. Keep posting the photos :-)

    1. Hi Keith. No problem at all mate! I was torn between the white background and black background (it can be changed somewhere in dashboard if I remember rightly) but kept with white for the time being because I’m using black frames. I think this is one of the best that WP does for photos.

  2. Hi Peter, thought I would drop by and see if you had anything new up. Glad I did. This photo is beautiful! I love that this beautiful little girl is in a sea of grown ups, yet she is the one who somehow looks wise. Her gaze seems like she has a wisdom which surpasses her young age. Beautiful!! You are very good at capturing people.

    1. Hi Jenny, thanks so much for thinking of having a look – its really nice of you!

I have to admit I am really the happiest photographing people so the last few have been one’s I really liked. I have been so busy lately with other things but I have got to make some more time for photographs and my plan this winter is building a good portfolio of portraits.

I’m looking forward to my trip back to India this winter which has a very specific photography objective but will definitely include this type of portraiture, Can’t wait!!

(ps I have a film issue I’d like to ask you about but I’ll find your email for that)

      1. Hi Peter,

You should put a portfolio together! Your work is really impressive!! I wish I had your skills… I’m working on it ;) I can’t wait to see the work you do in India. When do you leave again?

You can email me anytime about your film issue. You can reach me via my contact page and I will give you my email :)

  3. What piercing, big, beautiful eyes! Seems like she can bore her way & see deep down to your very soul and there’s such maturity in that expression! beautiful capture, gorgeous subject! i don’t know how much time i spent looking at this picture… God bless the lil’ one :)

      1. Oh yes, it all went very well, thanks :) however, still a little busy with all the upcoming festivities, hence I’m dormant in the world of blogging…
